Thea Elise Klingvall
Thea Elise Klingvall is a Norwegian artist originally from Porsgrunn, now based in Oslo. She blends classical artistic disciplines with modern feminist iconography and mythological storytelling to create a unique style she calls contemporary romanticism. Her work is vibrant, emotional, and deeply personal, often exploring themes of femininity, mythology, and transformation.
At age twelve, she became the protégé of renowned Scandinavian painter Jonny Andvik, grounding her in traditional techniques that she now breaks and redefines with bold colors, symbols, and narratives. Thea holds degrees in both commercial interior architecture (from Westerdals) and in business and project management, giving her a rare combination of creative and strategic insight.
Her apartment has been featured on NRK TV and in interior design magazines, and she’s appeared on NRK’s Portrettmesterskapet. Thea has collaborated with major brands like Ford Motors, Fenty Beauty, Ringnes, Reitan, and Crystal Haze, bringing her distinct aesthetic into commercial and cultural arenas.
Currently, she is working on a solo exhibition in Oslo and abroad — including New York — while also nurturing a dream of training as a Shaolin monk in China. She continues to practice Muay Thai, gymnastics, and pole dancing, living with the dedication and discipline of a top athlete. Her work reflects this duality: strength and softness, discipline and freedom, structure and chaos.
She’s also exploring new narratives that include the masculine — encouraging others to romanticize every phase of life, even the most painful or brutal ones. Through her art, movement, and personal journey, Thea seeks to transform vulnerability into power and tradition into revolution.
